Superior General of the SSPX, Bishop Fellay Proclaims "The Jews are 'our elder brothers' in the old Covenant"

Fellay: "The Jews are 'our elder brothers'."
"Antisemitism has no place in our ranks."

Strong words of the Superior General of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX / SSPX), Bishop Bernard Fellay, against any suspicion of Antisemitism.

1. First, in a declaration made yesterday to Famille Chrétienne, the French Catholic weekly, as reported by La Croix this Sunday:
Bishop Bernard Fellay welcomed Famille Chrétienne [French Catholic weekly] on January 31, in his General House of Menzingen, Switzerland. He responded in particular to the accusations of Antisemitism cast at the Fraternity of Saint Pius X.

"We evidently condemn every act of murder of the innocent. It is a crime that cries to heaven! Even more so when it is related to a people. We reject every accusation of Antisemitism. Completely and absolutely. We reject every form of approval of what happened under Hitler. This is something abominable. Christianity places Charity at a supreme level. Saint Paul, speaking of the Jews, proclaims, 'I wished myself to be an anathema [from Christ], for my brethren!" (Rom. 9, 3). The Jews are "our elder brothers" in the sense that we have something in common, that is, the old Covenant. It is true that the acknowledgment of the coming of the Messiah separates us.

"It is very interesting to notice that the Church did not await for the Council to prescribe courses of action regarding the Jews. Since the 30s, even during the war, several texts of Rome provide a very just position: the abominations of the Hitlerist regime must be condemned! 'Spiritually, we are all Semites', Pope Pius XI had said. It is a truth which comes from Sacred Scripture itself, 'we are sons of Abraham,' Saint Paul also affirms."
2. Also by an e-mail message sent this Sunday to the Rev. Dr. Alcuin Reid (forwarded to several blogs):
Statement by Dr Alcuin Reid:
On Friday BBC Radio asked me to discuss recent events concerning the SSPX on 'The Sunday Program' this morning. Following that request I asked the SSPX for comment on the issues to be discussed. Unfortunately Bishop Fellay's reply reached me only after the program aired. His reply, written for publication, states:
"The position of Bishop Williamson is clearly not the position of our Society. Antisemitism has no place in our ranks. We follow fully God's commandments on justice and charity and the constant teaching of the Church. Antisemitism has been condemned by the Church. So do we condemn it. I fully agree with Fr Schmidberger's statement about Bishop Williamson's words. (www.fsspx.info)"
God bless you

Now Comes the Great Divide

Now comes the Great Divide in the Roman Catholic Society of St. Pius X (SSPX), not between Bishop Richard Williamson and Bishop Bernard Fellay, but between the SSPX founded by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre and Fellay.

This “antisemitism” canard is used as a Pavlovian instrument of auto-suppression to taint any critical study of Judaism. The SSPX rejects antisemitism, Bishop Fellay says. Fine! But what does that have to do with the issues at hand? Is it “antisemitic” to ask if Judaic persons were gassed to death in Auschwitz? Are these gassing allegations now holy Catholic writ, a new gospel? Where is the forensic documentation that St. Edith Stein was “gassed” in Auschwitz-Birkenau? How is it that one hates “semites,” if one dares to ask questions about secular history?
To what extent has the religion of Judaism for gentiles, that some of us refer to as Holocaustianity, supplanted the religion of Jews and gentiles known as Christianity? To what extent is Holocaustianity used to occlude the history of Judeo-Bolshevism’s mass murder of millions of Christians in Russia and Eastern Europe? These distinctions do not concern Bishop Fellay. He defends against the charge of “antisemitism” with the broadest strokes of crude generalities, as if the Patriarch Abraham and the Apostle Paul were all partisans of Zionism, liberalism and the Allied history of World War II.

Why is the statement from Pope Pius XI, “Spiritually we are all semites,” supposed to be some ultimate means for shaming into silence critics of the Talmud, and persons who question Judaic tales of homicidal gassings in Auschwitz? When we dare to ask such questions in the face of rabbinic and Vatican outrage, we are fulfilling our rights as Christians and the imperative bequeathed to us by St. Paul himself: “Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth" (Titus 1:14).

“Spiritually we are all semites.” Indeed!  And when objective and unbiased genetic testing at a high level of scientific verification is performed in the future, we will find many Arabs who are semites and many so-called Jews who are not (Rev. 2:9 and 3:9).
Bishop Fellay seems to endorse Pope John Paul II’s perverse declaration that, “the Jews are our elder brothers in the faith,” although Fellay uses the term “Old Covenant.” Which “Jews” -- ancient or modern? Does Fellay mean to say, the “Jews” of the Israeli state? The “Jews” of Chabad-Lubavitch? Does he refer to “Jews” like Maimonides, the Alter Rebbe, the Chafetz Chaim, Joseph Karo as our “elder brothers” in the “Covenant”?

The religion of Orthodox Judaism is a complete betrayal of the Old Testament. Those who follow it are not our elder brothers in the Old Covenant of the Bible. Their faith consists of the Talmud and worship of themselves, not worship of God (Babylonian Talmud: Bava Metzia 59b and Mo’ed Kattan 16b). Contemporary Orthodox Judaism is a blasphemy, many hundreds of times more corrupt that it was at the time the Pharisees persecuted Jesus Christ.
What then does Bishop Fellay’s phrase actually denote, “our elder brothers in the Old Covenant”? Does it denote that because today’s Israelis and Zionists allege that they are physically descended of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, we Christians have a solidarity with them based on their race? If that is the case, what then does the bishop make of the words of St. John the Baptist, when he said, in response to the racial brag of the Pharisees: “Do not presume to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father,' for I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham. Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire." Matthew 3: 9-10.
The ancient Pharisees had the same prestigious idea about their racial heritage as does Bishop Fellay. But what did Christ say to them in response? “If you were Abraham’s children, you would be doing the works Abraham did, but now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God” (John 8:39-40).

“Do not presume to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father...
“If you were Abraham’s children, you would be doing the works Abraham did...”
This is a radically different doctrine from the one put forth by the recent popes and the SSPX Superior General. Both St. John and Our Lord Jesus Christ defined the Jews’ connection to Abraham on the basis of their “fruits” and their “works.”
What are the fruits and works of the Christ-hating rabbis?
On what basis, other than racial prestige, can they be termed “elder brothers in the covenant”? Such a statement is liberal nonsense, concocted to curry favor with counterfeit-Israel and the Vatican that has become its most pernicious servant.

Is it “antisemitism” to reject this modernist palaver about Christianity’s supposed “elder brothers”? We adhere instead to the traditional Biblical and Catholic standard that the members of the synagogue of Judaism constitute the Antichrist.
We hear a great deal of thunder from Bishop Fellay about “Antisemitism,” and not a whisper about the Judaic Antichrist. What does Scripture say? “Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father.” 1 John 2:22-23.

To deny this fact, by spreading confusion concerning what is the “covenant” of “the Jews,” and claiming that the covenant of “Jews” in general, without qualification, precedes and is the elder brother of Christianity, is a scandal, a source of grave confusion, and an abdication of the prophetic voice of warning which Marcel Lefebvre desired that his successors would embody.
While Bishop Richard Williamson’s remarks in the past have sometimes been intemperate and poorly timed, his views on Judaism do not differ from those of Archbishop Lefebvre. Therefore, is Bishop Fellay suggesting indirectly that Archbishop Lefebvre was “antisemitic?” Is this why some of Lefebvre’s speeches have been suppressed by Fellay?

Another of the four SSPX bishops, Bernard Tissier de Mallerais, is well aware of the truth about Judaism. It is unfortunate that out of a mistaken sense of diplomacy he remains silent while Bishop Fellay continues to publicly batter a mostly defenseless brother bishop (Williamson) for supposed “sins” of Hitlerism and antisemitism of which he is not guilty.

Bishop Fellay states concerning Judaic persons: “Christianity places Charity at a supreme level.” Yet he has no charity toward Bishop Williamson. He repeatedly drags his name and reputation through the mud and uses him as a scapegoat.

In fact, Bishop Fellay has managed to sufficiently bully Bishop Williamson into avoidance of the truth. Williamson has in recent weeks more fervently denounced the German philosopher Immanuel Kant, than any rabbi. In his last column he attacked “Protestantism and liberalism” as the great evils of history. He omitted Judaism. His self-censorship is patently in deference to the lynch mob atmosphere Bishop Fellay has stirred against him. The silence of the other two SSPX bishops in the face of Fellay’s scurrilous campaign of calumny has no doubt emboldened Fellay.
Bishop Tissier de Mallerais is presiding over a two-day “Kingship of Christ” symposium in Kansas City in October that studiously avoids any serious or sustained study of Judaism or its disastrous infiltration of the modern Church. Of course, he is “just being diplomatic.” In this emergency, at five minutes to midnight on the clock of destiny, such avoidance is a dereliction of the duty incumbent upon the office of bishop.

How is it that clerical Catholic fellow-travelers with Judaism are so bold as to proclaim their liberalism from the housetops, while those who know the truth dare not? How does God work His will on earth if not through his human instruments on earth? And if those instruments are too enamored of timidity in the name of diplomacy, then what?

The Catholic Church has witnessed the current and past pope visit synagogues several times -- not to admonish the sinners and instruct the ignorant in those places -- which would be a salutary missionary activity to undertake, in the spirit of the apostles and St. Vincent Ferrer -- but rather, the two popes encouraged the enthralled in those synagogues to remain in their sins!
Bishop Fellay has cut his suit to fit the pattern of the modern Vatican, wherein the ancient weed of Neo-Platonic Kabbalism and Talmudism has emerged in full bloom in two pontificates, to the ruination of countless souls. If the salvation of souls is not our highest objective, then what is? If souls are being lost to eternal damnation because Archbishop Lefebvre’s successor believes he must play the part of the consummate politician in order to save the SSPX from the wrath of the Roman curia and the Zionist government of Germany (where the SSPX has schools and a seminary), what then?

To Bishop Fellay, we say, if your Excellency truly loves the “Jews,” then you will tell them the truth which the Church of Jesus Christ has always proclaimed to them: they have no faith and no covenant without Christ. They abandoned the Old Testament religion of Israel when they abandoned Jesus. They are not custodians of the Bible; neither do they honor it, or the Patriarchs. In their texts, they denigrate Noah, Isaiah and even Abraham. They use a Pharisaic and Kabbalistic exegesis of Scripture with multiple levels of alleged meaning, which degrades the Word of God into a mere totem, whereupon man’s fantasies are projected and institutionalized.

This fantastic Talmudic and midrashic exegesis has been taken up by Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI and incorporated into the Catholic hermeneutic. We will give but one example. On Holy Name Sunday in both Novus Ordo (diocese of Spokane) and even traditional pulpits (Fraternity of St. Peter), which we have heard with our own ears, in 2010 and 2011 respectively, it is taught that the Name of God (YHVH) was so holy it was to be pronounced only once a year by the high priest. This teaching is put forth with the strong implication that we are to imitate this “Biblical” example concerning the Name of God.

This is not Biblical, however. It is false doctrine -- a counterfeit human tradition about the Name of God nowhere to be found in the Word of God. The God of Israel repeatedly demanded that His people be known by His Name and that His Name be invoked by them (Exodus 3:15). The superstitious proscription against pronouncing God’s name, except once a year, is from the written record of the once oral law of the Pharisees -- the Mishnah -- which, with the Gemara, forms the Talmud.

On June, 29, 2008 the "Letter to the Bishops' Conferences on the Name of God," a document promulgated by the "Vatican Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments," ordered, at the direction of Pope Benedict XVI, God's name is "neither to be used or pronounced" in Catholic liturgy, hymns or prayers. Pope Benedict is promulgating the word of the Pharisees in Mishnah Sanhedrin 10:1, in preference to the Word of God in Exodus 3:15 and Psalm 145:21 (

Jerusalem Bible translation). This is how serious are the inroads of Talmudism into Catholicism.

Will Bishop Fellay resort to invoking the tiresome device of crying “antisemitism” as way to silence vigilance and protest over the fact that Pope Benedict prefers to obey the Talmud rather than the Old Testament? Christians are indeed children of Abraham. How then can they be children of a Talmud in which Abraham and the God of Abraham have no part?
Where God is, there is the Truth. The truth about Pharisaic Judaism, of which today’s Orthodox Judaism is the direct descendant, was declared by Jesus Christ, recorded in the New Testament, taught by the early Church, the Fathers of the Church and all the saints canonized before 1970. Yet, suddenly the modern zeitgeist has determined that Truth is “antisemitic”!
And you, Bishop Fellay, do you still claim to be the guardian of the traditional Catholic Society founded by Archbishop Lefebvre, or have you become the paladin of the politically correct lucubrations of the modernist heresy?

Catholic schools and immigration in Ireland

Whilst it is fair to say from the outset that the majority of Catholic schools in Ireland are ‘Catholic’ in name only and being surrendered to the Judeo-Masonic elite, it is fair to say they are the worst for promoting mass-immigration. Many Catholic schools are heavily immigrant populated and this situation is worsening. Neo-cons and half baked conservative Catholics are propping up the multi-cult, multi racial society. Many blamed the break up of the family for the recent riots in London. Some were too damn cowardly to point the finger to the true cause of the problem.

Ireland ought to be an homogenous Nation. Catholic teaching is clear on this. Whilst the common good is always kept in mind, this does not imply Ireland should become a multi-racial hell hole. Liberals, who don’t believe in the concept of nation or a people, abhor the patchwork of peoples and identities that is pleasing to the eye.

Immigrants, who wish to have their children educated in Ireland can hardly be regarded as patriots. It speaks volumes of their character. The real patriot remaining in their Nation deserves praise and support. These immigrants are nothing other than the cheap foreign labour of the Irish capitalist. The easy way out for these immigrants is the ‘life of reilly’ in Ireland instead of the life of sacrifice and struggle in their homeland.

The best thing parents can do is take their children out of these ‘Catholic’ schools and stop funding them. Challenge these conciliar priests and Bishops who promote mass-immigration under false guise of social justice or a half baked humanism. Don’t be afraid to state you wish for immigrants to be afforded a humane repatriation ‘back home’.

Cherish the Nation, our culture and heritage. Stand up to the Nation’s Enemies.

“I’m in a rage” but it is a holy anger.

X Factor and Ireland

This article is not about X-Factor or any reality tv show but about Ireland. There are many still who prefer to sit and watch tv and do nothing to fight for the faith and the Nation. The family is the very seedbed of our nation. It is under constant attack by mass-immigration, abortionists, the homosexuals, usurers and others. Is the family not worth fighting for?

People will and MUST fight back.

“When a Nation rises up ardent to fight for its freedom and honour, it is always a minority
that really fires the multitude.”
The Decline of the West (Oswald Spengler)

This is certainly true. The political system and democracy “is in the service of high finance”. Codreanu was certainly correct in this regard. The political parties of Ireland are discredited and have failed the people. These parties are cesspools of corruption.

In these days, many parents are sending their children to school for the first time or will home-school. True Patriots will fight for these children. Parents must set an example to their children and instil in them values.

“And when the birthright of your children has been stolen from them and
parcelled out to enemies, will you be able to look them in the eye and say that you did all
that you could?”

Christ tells us we must take up our cross daily. Did I sit back and do nothing for the faith and the nation?

“Confronted on every side by injustice and exploitation the average man
mumbles: "What can you do?" The answer is frighteningly simple: FIGHT, FIGHT and
FIGHT AGAIN! Have done with the spinelessness and cowardice that characterize our
age. Unfurl the banners of Truth, Heroism and Sacrifice. Become the Warriors and Saints
that once made this land worthy of love and respect.”

We must fight and never compromise on the absolute values.

Timebomb in Euroland: The Eurozone is Heading for a Crash.

We want OUR Country back

Anti-EU

Ireland must leave the EU and support a Europe of Nations. We should have our National currency restored.

http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=26259

Bank funding costs are rising, liquidity is being choked off, and interbank lending has started to stall. A full-blown crisis can still be averted, but leaders will have to knuckle down and resolve the political issues fast. Otherwise the 17-member monetary union will fracture and the euro will be kaput. Here's a clip from the Wall Street Journal:

"Commercial banks boosted their reliance on the European Central Bank, borrowing €2.82 billion ($4.07 billion) from an emergency lending facility on Tuesday ... While the amount of borrowing is tiny ... the increase from €555 million a day earlier, nonetheless suggest that some lenders are struggling to borrow from traditional funding sources."("Europe Banks Lean More on Emergency Funding", Wall Street Journal)

Sure, it's a pittance compared to the trillions floating around in the EU banking system, but the pattern is the same as it was in 2007 when the troubles began at French bank PNB Paribas. Back then, the problems seemed small, too, but things got out of hand quick. Over the following year, trillions in mortgage-backed securities (MBS) were downgraded forcing bigger and bigger losses on the bondholders, many of which were the nation's largest banks. The bloodletting dragged on until September 2008, when Lehman blew up and the whole financial system went into cardiac arrest. The Fed had to rush to Wall Street's rescue with $12 trillion in loans and other guarantees in hand just to keep the patient from croaking on the Emergency Room floor. Now it looks like history is repeating itself.

As the collateral the banks hold (mainly foreign sovereign bonds) continues to lose value, the banks will come under greater pressure making funding more costly and harder to get. In fact, the mad-scramble for short-term funding has already begun. Banks are hoarding capital just as they did after the Crash of '08, depositing larger and larger amounts in overnight accounts with the ECB in order to avoid lending to the other banks. All of this is taking a toll on consumer and household lending which will inevitably push eurozone GDP further into the red. The negative feedback loop into the real economy will send unemployment higher while further crimping business investment. This is from Businessweek:

"Despite the ECB’s best efforts, some of Europe’s banks may be inching toward insolvency. The cost of insuring the bonds of 25 European banks and insurers set a record high on Aug. 24 of 257 basis points, higher than the 149 basis-point spike when Lehman Brothers collapsed in the fall of 2008, according to the Markit iTraxx Financial Index of credit default swaps.

The banks aren’t required to mark down most of their holdings of government debt to market prices. If they did, some would be forced to default or seek a bailout." ("How Long Can the ECB Prop Up Europe’s Sick Banks?", Businessweek)

Are you kidding me? The banks are sitting on a mountain of garbage paper and EU regulators haven't even forced them to write down the losses. Is it any wonder why public confidence is at all-time lows?

U.S. money funds have been gradually reducing their exposure to EU banks due to worries about their collateral, much of which is bonds from Portugal, Italy, Ireland, and Greece (PIIGS). Eventually, these bonds will be pounded by downgrades and the banks will have to pony-up for the losses. That'll be the swan song for some of Europe's big name banks that are gravely undercapitalized. Of course, there could be a multi-trillion dollar bailout like in the US, but it's hard to imagine how that would work. After all, Germany has already rejected eurobonds; so why would they support the more offensive idea of bank bailouts? It just doesn't add up.

And, in case there's any doubt about German Chancellor Angela Merkel's contempt for eurobonds; here's what she said on Tuesday: “At this time — we’re in a dramatic crisis — euro bonds are precisely the wrong answer...They lead us into a debt union, not a stability union. Each country has to take its own steps to reduce its debt.”

Then she added this corker: “We are in no rush whatsoever to solve the crisis in Europe. We will not be swayed by market crashes or panics.”

Hmmm. That doesn't sound like someone who appreciates the urgency of the moment. It sounds like someone who wants to teach the market "who's boss".

But Merkel's bravado doesn't change the fact that the EU bank funding system is on the fritz; liquidity is drying up, stress gauges are blinking red, and the banks are too scared to lend to each other. It just demonstrates the obtuseness of grandstanding politicians.

And, keep in mind that--while QE2 helped many of the European banks stockpile "rainy day" reserves in the US--those piles are beginning to dwindle as investors wise-up and head for the exits. They've seen this movie before, and it doesn't end well. Better to be safe than sorry.

Here's an excerpt from a report by Nomura that shows how liquidity is gradually being drained from the system:

"The USD cash buffer has been falling according to FED data from 889 billions USD on July 20 to 758 billions USD on August 3....In fact, according to the same report, there was a notable decline of 131 billions USD in two weeks, clearly a trend to watch.... ("Credit Terminal Velocity", Macronomics, Pragmatic Capitalism)

So, no, we're not at the panic-phase yet, but the situation is steadily deteriorating. As the run on the money markets continues, more banks have to go "cup in hand" to the ECB seeking loans to stay afloat. At the same time, ECB chief Jean-Claude Trichet will have to step up his sovereign debt purchasing program to prop up plunging bond prices to help tottering Greece and Co. stay upright. Otherwise, someone's going to go belly-up and take down a good portion of the EU financial system along with them.

So, it's a mess, and it's going to get a whole lot messier because eurozone banks need to roll over more than $4.5 trillion in the next two years and the funding flywheel is already gummed up. If there's not a political solution to the trans-EU fiscal issues in the next few months, there's going to be Hell-to-pay. When the credit markets start to freeze, bad things can happen fast.

This isn't the time for pompous pronouncements or footdragging. Policymakers need to make a choice and stick by it. Is there a future for the eurozone or not? It's that simple. Either implement the policies that will make the monetary union work or forget about it. But, for God sakes, don't just stand there while the markets rip the economy to shreds.

Do something!

Over half on housing list in Ireland are foreign

An article from earlier in the year in relation to immigration and housing in Ireland. Mass-immigration to Ireland is all about (a) cheap foreign labour and (b) the replacement of the Irish people.

http://www.herald.ie/news/over-half-on-housing-list-are-foreign-2549208.html

By Cormac Murphy

Monday February 21 2011

MORE than half of the applicants for council homes in north Dublin are from abroad, new figures show.

It is the first time that there have been more foreign than Irish people on Fingal's social housing list.

"For the first time, more than half those on the waiting list for social housing in Fingal County Council are non-Irish nationals. A third are from outside the EU," Fine Gael's Kieran Dennison said.

The figures were supplied in response to questions from Cllr Dennison.

Lone parents on the list have risen by 28pc to 3,480, he said. This category of applicant now accounts for 43pc of people waiting for council homes.

The number on Fingal's housing list is 8,144, up 22pc on the 6,691 on the list a year ago.

Controls

In response to Mr Dennison's question, the council stated: "There are a total of 4,108 applicants seeking social housing support with Fingal County Council of non-Irish nationality. Of this group, there are currently a total of 2,362 applicants who are of non-EU nationality."

The councillor said Ireland needs immigration and "it is inevitable that some immigrants may fall on hard times and will need support from the State just like the rest of us".

Nevertheless, he criticised the lack of controls over what he termed "welfare tourism".

"The incoming government is really going to have to get a handle on this issue. It causes resentment against those who are genuinely here to make a contribution to our economy and our society," he said.

He added that social housing applicants "are entitled to obtain rent allowance while they wait to be housed".

"In Fingal this can take up to six years or more. Half of all residential rents in Ireland are now paid for by the State," Mr Dennison said.

People no longer willing to participate in the destruction of lives

Usury= Death of Society

The following was sent via email

Hi Folks,

A Lovely Call …

Got a call today, from a senior ranking civil servant called *****.

She shall currently remain nameless. The lady was kind enough to express that she fully supported our efforts to educate the people of Eire, and iterated that we were 1000% correct in our understanding of the three main things that we are teaching.

1.    CONTRACT LAW.

2.    Securitisation and

3.    Fractional Reserve Banking.

Qualified to Talk.

The lady has a Degree in Economics and Politics, & involved in Banking (the Central Bank of Ireland) for approx. 20 years. Her credentials speak for themselves. Not that they need to.

Senior Civil Servants.

She told me; “there are quite a few people at her senior level, that support our work and are ready to openly participate and advocate taking this Corporate Government apart … and more than willing to facilitate demolishing the Central Bank of Ireland”.

No More Manipulation.

She also commented that she & many of her friends & colleagues were “no longer willing to participate in the destruction of the lives of the People of Ireland”. That this mood was rife also amongst the senior ranks of Gardai and of the Army. Also, that The Common Law Society had played a very direct part in ostracising and forcing MBNA to leave. That it was no longer financially viable to stay here as the … “Irish People can no longer be manipulated and bullied into paying”.

Banksters to Leave.

This was quite a refreshing call to get … We are not alone folks. Now is the right time for all of us to ask more appropriate questions, and NOT PAY another cent to any Banksters until they leave.

STOP PAYING THEM!

Our ancestors have starved and were forced to leave this land. They did so under Imperialist Tyranny. Let’s pay a small tribute to the millions of our people that have paid such a heavy price. All that is left for us to do

is to simply STOP PAYING!      Then the Banksers will leave us in peace …

Read This.

You can do so Legally, Lawfully and Non-Violently!

“Greek Gifts II”

The column of Bishop Williamson. Long live true Rome !  Long live sweet Romans ! But perish their errors !

ELEISON  COMMENTS  CCXV (Aug.27, 2011) :  "GREEK  GIFTS" - II
"But, your Excellency, how could you in last week's "Eleison Comments" (214) call in question, as you did, the sincerity and good will of the Roman officials who are only seeking to put an end to the alienation of the Society of St Pius X from the mainstream Church ?  You compared them to the Greeks deliberately deceiving the Trojans by means of the Trojan Horse. But all they want is to overcome the long and hurtful division between Catholics of Tradition and Church Authority !"

Answer, one need not at all call in question these Romans' sincerity and good will. There, in fact, is the problem !  After nearly 500 years of Protestantism and Liberalism our age is so confused and perverse that the world is now full of people doing wrong even while being convinced that they are doing right. And the more convinced such people are that they are doing right, the more dangerous they can be, because with all the more force of subjective sincerity and good intentions they push towards doing objective wrong, and they pull others with them. The more sincerely today's Romans are convinced of the rightness of their Newchurch, the more efficaciously they will destroy the true Church.

"But, your Excellency, God alone judges their intentions !"

When it comes to defending the Faith, subjective intentions are comparatively unimportant. If Romans mean well in trying to pull the SSPX into the mainstream Church, I may like them personally but I will hate their errors. If they do not mean well because they know that they are trying to destroy the true Faith, than I shall not like them and I will just the same hate their errors.  Their being likeable or not, or liked by me or not, is of little or no importance compared with those errors by which they are, objectively, destroying the Church.

When likeable men are peddling horrible errors, it is all too easy either to say that the errors are as likeable as the men, in which case the men incline us to liberalism, or to say that the men are as horrible as their errors, in which case the errors of the Conciliar Popes incline us to sedevacantism. But the reality today is that it has never been easier in all the history of mankind for men to be likeable at the same time as their errors are horrible. Such is our age. This situation could get worse only under the Antichrist, but it is his forerunners that are already driving the world to its ruin.

In the meantime the Romans who on September 14 are due to meet with the leaders of the SSPX are sure to be convinced of the rightness of the Newchurch as reshaped by Vatican II, in which case they are in grave error, but they may be chosen for their personal charm, to help draw the SSPX towards official Rome. Then be not surprised, dear readers, if the SSPX will be made to seem as though it is spurning Rome's noble offers and good intentions, but that will not be the case. Any spurning by the SSPX will only be of horrible errors. Long live true Rome !  Long live sweet Romans ! But perish their errors !

"Your Excellency, what is their essential error ?"

Putting man in the place of God. They are sliding into apostasy, and taking numberless souls with them.

A story missing from our media: Iceland’s on-going revolution

The Sovereign Independent picks up on an informative article about Iceland. Ireland shouldn’t bow to foreign interests either. People in this small Nation are also making their voices known to the politicians and bankers.

http://www.sovereignindependent.com/?p=25704

thetruthseeker.co.uk

An Italian radio program’s story about Iceland’s on-going revolution is a stunning example of how little our media tells us about the rest of the world.  We may remember that at the start of the 2008 financial crisis, Iceland literally went bankrupt.  The reasons were mentioned only in passing, and since then, this little-known member of the European Union fell back into oblivion.

As one European country after another fails or risks failing, imperiling the Euro, with repercussions for the entire world, the last thing the powers that be want is for Iceland to become an example.  Here’s why:

Five years of a pure neo-liberal regime had made Iceland, (population 320 thousand, no army), one of the richest countries in the world. In 2003 all the country’s banks were privatised, and in an effort to attract foreign investors, they offered on-line banking whose minimal costs allowed them to offer relatively high rates of return.  The accounts, called IceSave, attracted many UK and Dutch small investors.  But as investments grew, so did the banks’ foreign debt.  In 2003 Iceland’s debt was equal to 200 times its GNP, but in 2007, it was 900 percent.  The 2008 world financial crisis was the coup de grace. The three main Icelandic banks, Landbanki, Kapthing and Glitnir, went belly up and were nationalised, while the Kroner lost 85% of its value with respect to the Euro.  At the end of the year Iceland declared bankruptcy.

Contrary to what could be expected, the crisis resulted in Icelanders recovering their sovereign rights, through a process of direct participatory democracy that eventually led to a new Constitution.  But only after much pain.

Geir Haarde, the Prime Minister of a Social Democratic coalition government, negotiated a two million one hundred thousand dollar loan, to which the Nordic countries added another two and a half million.  But the foreign financial community pressured Iceland to impose drastic measures.  The FMI and the European Union wanted to take over its debt, claiming this was the only way for the country to pay back Holland and Great Britain, who had promised to reimburse their citizens.

Protests and riots continued, eventually forcing the government to resign.  Elections were brought forward to April 2009, resulting in a left-wing coalition which condemned the neoliberal economic system, but immediately gave in to its demands that Iceland pay off a total of three and a half million Euros.  This required each Icelandic citizen to pay 100 Euros a month (or about $130) for fifteen years, at 5.5% interest, to pay off a debt incurred by private parties vis a vis other private parties.  It was the straw that broke the reindeer’s back.

What happened next was extraordinary.  The belief that citizens had to pay for the mistakes of a financial monopoly, that an entire nation must be taxed to pay off private debts was shattered, transforming the relationship between citizens and their political institutions and eventually driving Iceland’s leaders to the side of their constituents.  The Head of State, Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, refused to ratify the law that would have made Iceland’s citizens responsible for its bankers’ debts, and accepted calls for a referendum.

Of course the international community only increased the pressure on Iceland.  Great Britain and Holland threatened dire reprisals that would isolate the country.  As Icelanders went to vote, foreign bankers threatened to block any aid from the IMF.  The British government threatened to freeze Icelander savings and checking accounts.  As Grimsson said: “We were told that if we refused the international community’s conditions, we would become the Cuba of the North.  But if we had accepted, we would have become the Haiti of the North.” (How many times have I written that when Cubans see the dire state of their neighbor, Haiti, they count themselves lucky.)

In the March 2010 referendum, 93% voted against repayment of the debt.  The IMF immediately froze its loan.  But the revolution (though not televised in the United States), would not be intimidated. With the support of a furious citizenry, the government launched civil and penal investigations into those responsible for the financial crisis.  Interpol put out an international arrest warrant for the ex-president of Kaupthing, Sigurdur Einarsson, as the other bankers implicated in the crash fled the country.

But Icelanders didn’t stop there: they decided to draft a new constitution that would free the country from the exaggerated power of international finance and virtual money.  (The one in use had been written when Iceland gained its independence from Denmark, in 1918, the only difference with the Danish constitution being that the word ‘president’ replaced the word ‘king’.)

To write the new constitution, the people of Iceland elected twenty-five citizens from among 522 adults not belonging to any political party but recommended by at least thirty citizens. This document was not the work of a handful of politicians, but was written on the internet. The constituent’s meetings are streamed on-line, and citizens can send their comments and suggestions, witnessing the document as it takes shape. The constitution that eventually emerges from this participatory democratic process will be submitted to parliament for approval after the next elections.

Some readers will remember that Iceland’s ninth century agrarian collapse was featured in Jared Diamond’s book by the same name. Today, that country is recovering from its financial collapse in ways just the opposite of those generally considered unavoidable, as confirmed yesterday by the new head of the IMF, Christine Lagarde to Fareed Zakaria. The people of Greece have been told that the privatization of their public sector is the only solution.  And those of Italy, Spain and Portugal are facing the same threat.

They should look to Iceland. Refusing to bow to foreign interests, that small country stated loud and clear that the people are sovereign.

That’s why it is not in the news anymore.

Free Gerry Mc Geough

Brendan Lillis was released from Maghaberry Prison in recent times. Further calls have been made to release the Irish  Catholic Nationalist, Gerry Mc Geough.  Gerry edited the excellent The Hibernian for several years. A magazine crushed by the Masonic enemies. The conditions in Maghaberry Prison has caused great concern. Marian Price is also imprisoned.

Homeowners Let Down By The Private Residential Tenancies Board

Is it a Talking Shop?

Our blog has received several emails from individuals from different parts of the country. Homeowners feel very let down by the PRTB. They had hoped this agency could assist them in tackling troublesome neighbours. There is little the PRTB could do and seem to have sided with the landlords. The emails this blog received were from several Irish homeowners who are enduring anti-social activity from immigrant tenant neighbours. The landlords don’t care. Judging from these emails, the The Private Residential Tenancies Board is a waste of time. Those who wrote to us have no confidence in this PRTB.

The ethnic cleansing of Ireland

On 24th August 1652, an ethnic cleansing of Ireland began with the ruthless transfer of the Irish to Barbados and other places. Sean O’ Callaghan in ‘To Hell Or Barbados, the ethnic cleansing of Ireland’ details the tragic events between 1652 and 1659 where over 50,000 Irish men, women and children were transported to Barbados and Virginia. A few accounts are detailed below:

“Nothing is more painful than to witness the shipment of those exiles, the father separated from his child, brother from brother, sister from sister, relative from relative, friend from friend, spouse….”

An account by Fr Thomas Quyn,S.J. Writing in Latin his report “The State and Condition of Irish Catholics from the Year 1652-1656”

“And so these heretics( the English) caused the poor Catholics to be sent in crowded ships to Barbados and the Islands of America, such that those that did not die in the open remained in perpetual servitude. I believe that some 60,000 were sent there; the husband expelled first to Spain and the Netherlands, whilst the wives and offspring were destined for America, such that there was a perpetual divorce; thus what God and nature had joined, the barbarous tyranny of the heretics separated.

A Rev E.A D’Alton writing in 1910 stated”

“The men and boys were put to work in the sugar plantations; the girls and women-wives and widows of officers and soldiers, gently nurtured perhaps, and in the manner refined- were to be the wives and mistresses of the West Indian Planters to take the place of negresses and maroons… Their beauty was their ruin and attracted their master’s lustful eyes and, in that land of tropics and the trade winds, they lived in a prison, their faith banned, their race and nation despised, their virtue outraged, their tears derided, and as they looked out on the waving fields of sugar cane, they sadly thought of their own dear land with its fields so fertile and so green, now separated from them forever by thousands of miles of rolling sea.”

Remembering Michael Collins

Today, we remember the anniversary of the death of Michael Collins. It was the writings of G.K. Chesterton which inspired Collins. Michaels Collins enjoyed reading The Napoleon of Notting Hill and other works by Chesterton.

Some interesting writings and quotations from Michael Collins.

"Michael Collins In His Own Words" (edited by Francis Costello) from Gill & Macmillan.

On Culture:
(pp. 109-10) "We have now won the first victory... We re now free in name. The extent to which we become free in fact and secure our freedom will be the extent to which we become Gaels again. It is a hard task. The machine of the British armed force, which tried to crush us, we could see with our physical eyes. We could touch it. We could put our physical strength against it. We could see their agents in uniform and under arms. We could see their tanks and armored cars.
"But the spiritual machine which has been mutilating us, restoring our customs, and our independent life, is not easy to discern... And it has become so familiar, how are we to recognise it? We cannot perhaps. But we can do something else. We can replace it. We can fill our minds with Gaelic ideas, and our lives with Gaelic customs, until there is no room for any other.
"... The biggest task will be the restoration of the language. How can we express our most subtle thoughts and finest feelings in a foreign tongue? Irish will scarcely be our language in this generation, not even perhaps in the next. But until we have it again on our tongues and in our minds we are not free, and we will produce no immortal literature.

"Our poets and artists will be inspired in the stimulating air of freedom to be something more than the mere producers of verse and the painters of pictures. They will teach us, by their vision, the noble race we may become. They will inspire us to live as Irish men and women should.... Our civilisation will be glorious or the reverse, according to the character of the people. And the work we produce will be the expression of what we are. Our external life has become the expression of all that we are deprived of - something shapeless, ugly, without native life.... Irish art and Irish customs must be carried out by the people themselves, helped by a central government, not controlled and managed by it, helped by departments of music, art, national painting etc., with local centres connected with them."

The following quote, with references to the English removed, could be applied to the European Union. The foresight of the man is astounding:
(pp. 107-108) "Up to the [1800] Union... interference in Ireland had succeeded only in its military and economic oppression. The national spirit survived... The people spoke their own language, preserved by their Gaelic customs and way of life, and remained united in their common traditions... Entrenched behind their language and their national traditions, they kept their social life intact... With the Union came upheaval. The seat of government was transferred... The garrison which became Gaelicised towards the end of the eighteenth century turned away from Ireland with the destruction of the Dublin Parliament....
"Only by developing our resources, by linking up our life with the past, and adopting the civilisation which was stopped by the Union could we become Gaels again, and help win our nation back..."

On economics:
(p. 103) "How are we to develop Irish resources? The earth is our bountiful mother.... Foreign trade must be stimulated by making facilities for the transport and marketing of Irish goods abroad and foreign goods in Ireland. Investors much be encouraged to invest Irish capital in Irish concerns."

Popular rule:
(p. 102) "We have to build up a new civilisation on the foundations of the old. And here let me say it is not the leaders of the Irish people who can do this for the people. Leaders can only point the way. They can but do their best to establish a reign of justice and of law and order which will enable the people to attain their ideals. The strength of our nation must be the strength of the whole people. We need a political, economic and social system in which our material, intellectual and spiritual needs and forces will find the fullest expression and satisfaction."

Ireland in the world:
(p. 99) "We are a small nation. Our military strength in proportion to mighty armaments of modern nations can never be considerable. Our strength as a nation will depend on our economic freedom, and upon our moral and intellectual force. In these we can become a shining light to the world."

Innocence:
(p. 116) "I never knew there was so much cowardice, dishonesty, hedging insecurity and meanness in the world."

Modern politicians (just look at those election posters!):
(p. 37) "Whenever I think of politics, I think of the false air which is a part of most politicians. However much he may blind the public, and even himself, into thinking that he is for party and country, it does not blind me into thinking the same way. To be a politician one needs to keep tongue in cheek for all the day and most of the night; one needs to have the ability to say one thing and mean another; one needs to be abnormally successful at the 'art' of twisting the truth. Can you wonder that I think and think yet never manage to achieve peace of mind? In my time I have told men and women what I thought of them. I've cursed them - and they understand me all the more for it. But what can one say to a politician? Knowing it is more possible that one's words will be taken out of context, twisted and warped, shaped into a lie and be flung back into my teeth. I do not in the least care for the false atmosphere of these discussions."

Campaigner tells banks: 'If I owe you money, prove it'

Those in Cork should certainly attend this meeting.

Debt advisor to bring 'Freedom Bus' to Cork

A Mayo man who succeeded in having his mortgage written off by an Irish bank will bring his ‘Life after Debt’ campaign to Leeside next week. Darrell O’Dea is the author of ‘Blank of Ireland’ and says he and his team will bring their Freedom Bus to Cork city on Thursday, August 25th before holding a public meeting in the Metropole Hotel later the same evening.

“I went down the road of legally challenging the banks because they had taken everything off me,” he explained to the Cork News. “I had nothing left. I was suicidal and in a very bad place until a friend of mine told me that he could teach me about the law and legality so that I could take them on in a non-violent, passive way.

“There were three questions I asked – I wanted to see the original contract if it existed, I wanted to see their accounts in order to demonstrate how anything I had done had created a loss on their books and I wanted them to provide a lawful invoice for goods or services they had supplied. I told them that once they showed me the documents, I would try and settle what was owed. Rather than answering my queries though, they ignored me.”

When contacted by a solicitor acting on the bank’s behalf, Darrell insisted he was not required to engage with a third party – citizens are entitled to ‘privacy in contract’ under contract law – as he was actively trying to deal with his affairs and eventually wrote his experiences down, forwarding a hard copy of 'Blank of Ireland' to everyone mentioned by name in the book.

“I was threatened with court action and even prison so I wrote down the process I had been through - pointing out that the bank had never answered my questions - and I sent it to every person I knew. I got very favourable responses and learned even more about the banking system.

“Banks take the signatures of mortgage holders, digitalise them through something called MERS (Mortgage Electronic Registration

System) and usually shred the paper contracts - the only contract that is actually valid in a lawful court. There is also the issue of securitisation – where banks essentially ‘sell’ security that they have i.e. mortgage payments, physical assets – but when we examined this in the context of Irish law, the contracts are void.

“About four weeks after I sent a hard copy of the book to the CEO of the bank I was dealing with, they redeemed my mortgage. We are now working directly and indirectly with 12,000 people in every county of Ireland on this. One bank official told us of a bank branch that is receiving up to 50 letters a day from people challenging their mortgages, loans and overdrafts. They can’t cope with the volume of people saying: ‘Validate your claim. If I owe you money, prove it’.”

The Freedom Bus will be open to everybody. “People from all walks of life are affected,” Darrell confirmed. “We can take people through this in less than an hour. I’ve sat down with economists to make sure I explain this as clearly as possible and when we teach people about all this, all we ask is that they try and help others in the same situation.”

"Greek Gifts" I

A pertinent article from Bishop Richard Williamson.

ELEISON  COMMENTS  CCXIV  (Aug. 20, 2011) : "GREEK  GIFTS"  --  I
On September 14 in a few weeks'  time is due to take place in Rome, so we are told, a meeting of Cardinal Levada and Roman officials with the Superior General of the Society of St Pius X and his two Assistants. Catholics who appreciate all that Archbishop Lefebvre and his Society have been given to do over the last 40 years in defence of the Faith need to be forewarned, because that Faith is ever more in danger, and "Forewarned is forearmed", especially by prayer.

It was Cardinal Levada, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, who was entrusted two years ago with overseeing the doctrinal Discussions that ran from the autumn of 2009 to April of this year, between Rome and the SSPX. It was Rome that invited the SSPX to this meeting. It seems reasonable to anticipate that the Romans on September 14 will be laying down as to future relations with the SSPX their decision emerging from the Discussions.

Now by all accounts the Discussions made clear that no doctrinal agreement is possible between the SSPX as cleaving to the age-old Church doctrine, and today's Rome as set upon the  Conciliar teaching of the Newchurch, and moreover persevering in this disorientation, as is clear from the Newbeatification of John-Paul II in May and from Assisi III due to happen this coming October. So the situation coming out of the Discussions remains exactly where it was two years ago, going into the Discussions: on the one hand, for the glory of God and for the salvation of souls, the SSPX strives to help Rome back to the true Catholic Faith, whilst for the glory of modern man and for the satisfaction of his ignoble media (as in January and February of 2009), Conciliar Rome is doing all within its power to induce the SSPX to blend into the mind- and soul-rotting ecumenism of the Newfaith.

What then can we imagine Rome imposing on September 14 ?  Either carrot or stick, more probably, as adjusted by their expertise in its reading of the current state of mind within the SSPX, both. The stick could be a threat of total "excommunication" for the SSPX, once and for all. But who that has the Catholic Faith could be scared by such a threat ?  When Archbishop Lefebvre was threatened for the first time with "excommunication" from the Newchurch, we remember his reply: "How can I be put out of a 'church' to which I have never belonged ?"

On the other hand the cleverest carrot from Rome could be the apparently irresistible offer of "full communion with Rome" on the SSPX's own terms. Only there might be hidden away a little clause that would stipulate that future SSPX Superiors and Bishops might be chosen by a joint committee of Rome and the SSPX with the merest majority of members being -- Romans. After all, would the SSPX be wanting to come under Rome, or not ?  "Make up your minds !" will be their reasonable demand, as Cardinal Ratzinger reportedly cried out in 2001.

Clear minds recall the saying of the wise -- but scorned -- Trojan who did not want the Greeks' Horse to be brought into Troy: "Howsoever it be, I fear the Greeks, even when they bear gifts." But the Trojan Horse was brought in. We all know what happened to Troy.

World Youth Day: Catholicism or Corruption?

Another “Catholic Woodstock” took place in Madrid in recent days. The following video is part of events in Toronto in 2002. Many parents didn’t allow their young people to attend this WYD. Many young people themselves seek and uphold authentic Catholicism. Many in Madrid protested this World Youth Day. The organisers of these World Youth Days are not offering young people the true faith, the true Catholic Mass, the doctrines, the truth. There are certainly authentic Catholic events that one can attend. These materialistic festivals rotting out young people should be avoided. Our young people deserve much better and deserve the truth.

The New Moneylender’s Circular

In the short essay ‘True Advertising’, Belloc wrote the following.

‘I was born in a Galician ghetto. They call me Mrcwz. I have come to the only land where such as I are sacrosanct, and where no one will dare speak of my origins or challenge my new name of Howard. I have set up as a moneylender because I hear that it leads to the highest honours in your State. I charge 60 per cent, but you pay mightily more than that before I’ve sucked your blood out of you. I shall take all you have and get a clutch on all your life and bring you down to dishonour and death: but before you die you shall see me among your peers with the title of some dear English town of yours. Believe me, I loath you well’

The usurer has brought upon untold misery and destruction among the people and Nations. Our Nation (Ireland) is being butchered by these usurer’s and their glove puppets in the political parties.Irish people must and will, fight back.

We are and must be that beacon of light. Belloc in the essay on St. Patrick wrote “Behind the enemies of Ireland, furnishing them with all their modern strength, was that base and secret master of modern things, the usurer”.

Congratulations Integrity and Action

Marie Stopes profit on Death

I&A have been very active in holding regular pro-life rosary pickets outside this organisation which is registered as a charity. The abortion industry is about money. Long may their protests against these baby butchers continue. Please join these I&A events in Britain.

http://integrityandaction.blogspot.com/2011/08/marie-stopes-liberator-of-women-or.html

On the anniversary of the first I & A activity, a group of 14 hearty souls (including one lady) set out for the Marie Stopes headquarters in central London. We had designed a leaflet demonstrating the vile ideas held and propagated by Marie Stopes herself. It is shocking to note that in spite of these ideas, through which she would have liked to have stopped much of mankind from reproducing, she is still held in such high esteem by one of the primary abortion providers in the country (which also happens to be a registered charity) Marie Stopes International and that they continue to use her name. We want to expose the horrific hypocrisy of this organisation. We compiled a leaflet summarising the grotesque ideas of Stopes based on the article which was on this blog a few months ago

and so we spent the afternoon of Saturday 14th August in Whitfield Street in London giving these leaflets to all those passing by and took the opportunity to explain more about her and what Marie Stopes International does now. Generally we received a favourable response and many were keen to hear more about the activities of these baby butchers. Whilst a few activists were distributing the leaflet, the rest of the group were saying the Rosary directly opposite the premises

We hope and pray that by exposing one of the founders of 'birth control' and its twin abortion, people will start to question the whole abortion industry for that is simply what it is and a wealthy one at that. We hope in turn that they will begin to question abortion itself.

After this we headed back to north London for a social evening. This was an opportunity to raise funds for I & A and for new activists to get acquainted with the group and its aims. Naturally we started the evening with a Rosary as we seek Our Lady’s blessing on everything we aim to do. During the course of the evening we were privileged to be shown some of the great talents of our activists. We hope such evenings will become a regular occurrence so that our supporters and activists can get better acquainted and discuss future activities

People are sick and tired of the EU!

Give us our Nations back!

People in Ireland and beyond are fed up of the European Union and support Irish sovereignty. The politicians and bureaucrats are on the gravy train at our expense. Share the anti- EU message with your friends.

Pensioner attacked in Tralee

They have arrested two Eastern Europeans for this attack. What have those who support mass-immigration and cheap foreign labour to say about such attacks? Irish pensioners being brutally attacked in their own town. These vicious thugs should be repatriated from Ireland and serve their sentence back home.  Thugs like these should get the rope to be honest or atleast some form of corporal punishment.

http://www.kerryman.ie/news/youths-quizzed-after-savage-attack-2845993.html

TWO young males have been arrested and questioned in connection with the shocking attack on Tralee pensioner Eamon Horan (75) who suffered a broken jaw and a fractured nose when he was mugged while walking home from the pub.

The attack on the former Kerryman sports reporter led to outrage in Tralee and throughout the county after it was highlighted by The Kerryman last week. Gardaí say they are staggered by the level of help they are receiving from the public in the investigation, much of it due to the overwhelming support for Mr Horan.

Mr Horan was attacked by a trio looking for money late on Wednesday night, July 27, as he walked to his home in Clonmore from the nearby Munster Bar. He was subjected to a brutal assault in which he was kicked and punched by the attackers who ignored his pleas to take a €50 note he had in his pocket.

Mr Horan spent the following week between Tralee General Hospital and Cork University Hospital, where he received specialist treatment.

Gardaí meanwhile launched one of the biggest investigations this year in Tralee, conducting house-to-house enquiries in the Clonmore/ballymullen area and interviewing scores of people who had been in the town centre on the night of the attack. Their enquiries led to the arrest of two Eastern European youths at addresses in the town centre on Monday and Tuesday.

The Kerryman understands that the youths — both minors — were interviewed at Tralee Garda Station and that a file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions on the matter. Gardaí say they are now following a definite line of enquiry as the investigation continues to focus on the identification of Mr Horan's attackers.

"We have been stunned by the level of co-operation from the public, it has been unprecedented really," a spokesperson for Tralee gardaí said. "A significant amount of people who were in the centre of Tralee on the night have been interviewed to see if they may have met anyone answering to the description of the attackers on the night in any part of town. Our investigation into their identity is continuing, but we are following a definite line of enquiry," they added.

Mr Horan is recovering well from his ordeal and is receiving hundreds of messages of sympathy from his many friends in the county and beyond.

Innocent Ignorance?

A very informative article by Bishop Williamson.

ELEISON  COMMENTS  CCXIII  (Aug.13, 2011) :  INNOCENT IGNORANCE ?

A reader asks a vital question : « If a good Protestant has lived a good life but still firmly believes that the Catholic Faith is wrong, so that he does not even consider entering the Catholic Church, can he still be saved ?" The question is vital (from "vita" in latin, meaning "life"), because it is a question of eternal life or death for countless souls.

By way of answer, the first thing to be said is that every soul appearing at death instantaneously before God's judgment seat will be judged by him with a perfect justice and with a perfect mercy. God alone knows the depths of a man's heart which a man can hide from himself, let alone from other men. Men may misjudge, but God never. Therefore the "good Protestant" will be damned by himself or saved by God, exactly as God knows that he has deserved.

Nevertheless it stands to reason that if God wants all of us to be saved (I Tim.II,4), and requires of us to believe on pain of damnation (Mk.XVI,16), he will have let us men know what we must believe and what we must do to save our souls. What then must the "good Protestant" believe ?

At the very least any soul to be saved must believe that God exists and that he rewards the good and punishes the wicked (Heb.XI,6).  If a "good Protestant" who has led "a good life" does not believe that, he cannot be saved. But many Catholic theologians go further and say that to be saved one must also believe in the Holy Trinity and in Christ as Redeemer. If these theologians are right, then there may be many more "good Protestants" who cannot save their souls.

And God may require of them to believe in more than just these absolute basics, depending upon how much opportunity they have had in life to learn of the Truth that comes from him. If they are ignorant of all the rest of the Catholic Faith, have they never come across it ?   Possibly not.  But possibly they have. I can remember my mother telling with admiration how a Catholic priest once answered all the serious questions of her "good Protestant" father, but there was no follow-up that I know of.  If then "good Protestants" have even only once come across Catholic truth, why exactly did they not follow up ?  Unless it was badly presented, they were in effect rejecting truth. Can they have rejected it without some fault?  Then did they reject it innocently or wilfully ?  "Good Protestants" easily consider themselves to be innocent, as do we all, but God is deceived by none of us.

However, there is also what a "good Protestant" must do to be saved. He may not know all that the Catholic Church infallibly requires of us in morals, but he does have at least the natural light of his in-born conscience. Now it may be truly difficult with original sin and with no help from the Catholic sacraments to follow that natural light of one's conscience, but if one does seriously violate it or twist it out of true, it is easy to live and to die in mortal sin, a state in which no soul can be saved. Again, the "good Protestant" may plead ignorance of the fullness of God's law as Catholics can know it, but is his ignorance truly "invincible", i.e. innocent ?  For instance, did he really not know, or did he actually want not to know, that artificial means of birth control are seriously displeasing to God ?

God knows.  God judges.  May he have mercy upon all "good Protestants", and upon all of us.

         Kyrie eleison.
