NOVENA PRAYER TO ST RAPHAEL
O Glorious St. Raphael, Patron and Lover of the Young, I call upon thee and plead with thee for thy help.In all confidence I open my heart to thee, to beg thy guidance and assistance in the important task of planning my future. Obtain for me through thy intercession the light of God’s grace, so that I may decide wisely concerning the person who is to be my partner through life. O Angel of Happy Meetings, lead us by the hand to find each other. May all our movements be guided by thy light and transfigured by thy joy. As thou didst lead the young Tobias to Sara and opened up for him a new life of happiness with her in holy marriage, lead me to such a one whom in thine angelic wisdom thou dost judge best suited to be united with me in marriage.
St. Raphael, loving Patron of those seeking a marriage partner, help me in this supreme decision of my life. Find for me as a helpmate in life that person whose character will reflect the traits of Jesus and Mary. May he (she) be upright, loyal, pure, sincere and noble, so that with united efforts and with chaste and unselfish love, we both may strive to perfect ourselves in soul and body, as well as the children it may please God to entrust to our care.
St. Raphael, Angel of chaste courtship, bless our friendship and our love, that sin may have no part in it. May our mutual love bind us so closely that our future home may ever be most like the home of the Holy Family of Nazareth. Offer thy prayers to God for both of us and obtain the blessing of God upon our marriage, as thou wert the herald of blessing for the marriage of Tobias and Sara.
St. Raphael, Friend of the Young, be thou my friend, for I shall always be thine. I desire ever to invoke thee in my needs. To thy special care I entrust the decision I am to make as to my future wife (husband). Direct me to the person with whom I can best cooperate in doing God’s Holy Will, with whom I can live in peace, love, and harmony in this life and attain to eternal joy in the next. Amen.

DeleteAnonymous--I wouldn't worry--St. Raphael intercedes for all looking for a spouse. He will also protect you from marrying the wrong one. Young is just a loose term, the prayer can be for any age.

ReplyDeleteMany moons ago, when I was 36 and had never had a serious girlfriend yet longed for a wife, marriage and children, I prayed a Novena to St. Raphael regularly. I'm now married with six kids and another on the way. Don't get me wrong...it's often rough. Very rough. Very, very rough. But I don't regret a minute of it. God provides.

ReplyDeleteThis is Sept. 8. I am beginning this Novena after months of heartache over a breakup with someone I was sure would one day be my spouse. We even attended Mass together, of all places, at the parish of St. Raphael where she lives. I am hoping this great Angelic Saint's intercession can restore the relationship and lead to marriage, and likewise, bring all of your petitions to bear as well. Please pray for CP-BSB.

I have just started this novena. I am 34 and like quite a few of my friends long to meet someone that I can share my life with. I am tired of the loneliness and feel I have so much live to give. I am offering this novena for myself and single friends. St Rapael pray for us
ReplyDeleteI have been praying this prayer for a year and a half. I have not found the person I am looking for, but believe that this prayer has helped me to see why some people are not right for me and is protecting me from marrying the wrong one. I also believe that this prayer over time has shown me what qualities I should look for in a spouse. For those of you who are frustrated in your search, I will bet that if you look back you will know that the people you have met were not right for you.

I prayed this novena last summer and met what seems like a wonderful, loving man. We got engaged but now it's like something is holding me back. DeleteI prayed this Novena when I started dating a guy. After the Novena I discovered what a horrible man he was. This Novena showed me that you cannot relay on yourself alone, that god must be there as well. A little while after, I prayed this Novena again and asked for peace and my vocation. I also asked that if my vocation was marriage, that god send me not the man that I think is right for me, but what god knows is right. As soon as I finished this, I met my future husband. I still say this Novena to guide us through our relationship every day. Thank you St. Raphael!

ReplyDeleteFinally I just surrendered it to His Will..and a new man came into my life...he proposed marriage and I said yes..somehow I knew this was the man God meant for me.
After my wedding I came to know what a weasel the first guy was..no wonder my Father kept him away from me :)..after all what father would give his child a serpent if he asked for a fish?
And as days go by..I can't believe anyone could have matched me..or loved me better..even our deepest dreams match..it's almost like we were brought together by Someone who knows us both inside out :)...
I too lost hope at one point..nearly went the wrong way..but was saved by my Father..just like everyone who are praying and will be praying this Novena..

Yet, during this time he has been healing from his divorce and separation from his kids. This has made him hesitant to enter into a relationship with me as he is not pure of heart, clear headed and can't give me 100% of himself as he desires. He wants me to be happy, and even though we are no longer seeing each other, he still asks that we remain friends as he considers me one of his best friends. St. Raphael, I pray you that you heal him and that in time, he will desire me again and that we can be happily married someday as I feel strongly that this is my true soulmate. My father passed away in Oct of 2012 and he was amazing to me during that time. We had a long distance relationship the whole time. We met in Savannah, GA and live in NJ and VA. I am hopeful that God will send me a wonderful man who will become my husband. Although I am hearbroken over our break up I am in awe of God's mercy, He sent me a wonderfult man to be with me physically and emotionally during an awful time. I am starting the novena tonight.

ReplyDeleteI am just about to turn 29 this January, 2013. I have never been in a real relationship. I have come to the point where I am almost giving up and even tempted to sin in ways I have previously overcome. I have no job and no husband. Sometimes life seems to be at a standstill for me. I want to pray that this year, which I feel is new and full of good things, brings with it both a good job and a good spouse. I have already started a novena to St. Anne, but I will also pray to St. Raphael for both things as well.

The only people coming to me are those that are not ready for marriage. Am lonely and need a companion n i dnt want to fall into sin. Sometimes i feel the is a problem.
